Board Certification is a rigorous process that demonstrates an attorney’s expertise and commitment to their field. To achieve this, attorneys must:
- Practice law full-time for at least five years with a strong focus on family law.
- Dedicate at least 35% of their yearly practice to family law matters.
- Complete at least 60 hours of TBLS-approved continuing legal education.
- Receive vetted references from judges and fellow attorneys.
- Pass an extensive six-hour examination.
